How long does delivery take?
Usually 1-5 minutes after payment is confirmed.
Where can I send faxes?
FaxChat is designed for US domestic faxing — IRS forms, legal filings, real estate contracts, and business correspondence. International faxing is technically supported but not our focus.
Can I use this for medical records or HIPAA-covered data?
No. FaxChat is not a HIPAA Business Associate and we do not sign BAAs. Do not send Protected Health Information (PHI) through our service. If you need HIPAA compliance, use a provider that offers a BAA such as SRFax or Updox.
What file formats are supported?
PDF (maximum 10MB per file).
What if the fax fails?
Pay-per-use: if the fax fails to reach the recipient's machine (wrong number, busy, line error, etc.), you'll receive an automatic full refund. Pro plan: failed sends are automatically retried up to 5 times, and the pages are not counted toward your monthly send allowance if delivery ultimately fails. Issues after the recipient's machine has accepted the data (e.g., paper jam) are not covered.
How much does the Pro plan cost?
$12/month. Includes a dedicated US fax number, 200 send pages, 300 receive pages, and a chat-style threaded inbox. Overage: $0.10/page sent, $0.05/page received.
Can I receive faxes?
Yes, with the Pro plan. You get a dedicated fax number and all incoming faxes appear in your chat inbox, threaded by contact.
Is there a free trial?
There's no free trial, but you can try the service with a single per-use fax ($1.50 + $0.30/page) without creating an account. No commitment needed.
